Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar who will be seen in the upcoming film Kesari, has again created much buzz surrounding a hard-hitting drama that involves one of the greatest battles ever fought in India. The actor who plays Havildar Ishar Singh, will be showcasing scenes from the real battle of Saragarhi on the big screens in the coming week. After a convincing trailer, the makers have released a dialogue promo from the movie and it will give you goosebumps.

Ahead of its release, Akshay announced for the audience to book tickets in advance as he shared a glimpse from the movie. “Jab ladne ka faisla liya tha, tab hi jeet gaye the! #Kesari,” he wrote. The battle of Saragarhi was fought on September 12, 1897, between the Sikh soldiers who were a part of the British Indian Army that time, against the Afghan invaders who were Pashtun tribesmen from  Orakzai and Afridi tribes. The battle was fought at the North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan).

What makes this battle so special and significance in history is the fact that there were 10,000 invaders against 21 Sikh soldiers who fought valiantly. The day of the battle is called the Saragarhi Day that was commemorated by the Sikh military. Directed by Anurag  Singh, the action-war film also stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead role as Akshay’s on-screen wife. Check out the dialogue promo that is “a dose of unwavering courage”…

Helmed by Dharma Productions, Kesari is slated to release on March 21.

Meanwhile, Akshay has begun prepping for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. He will be seen in Good News opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. He has also signed up for Mission Mangal alongside Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu and Sonakshi Sinha. Besides these, he will also be seen in Housefull 4.
